Learning at Norland

Sporting Norland

‘There is a team or a club for every sport and for a small school I think we’re pretty good when it comes to big competitions.’

Aggie, Year 5

As well as sporting excellence, we value the individual improvement made by each pupil though our underlying philosophy of sport for all.

PE is timetabled for every form at least once a week and delivered by specialist teachers who ensure that all children are active and find enjoyment in physical activity.

Sports lessons introduce pupils to a wide range of team and individual sports including, netball, hockey, football, cricket, swimming, rounders, rock climbing, tennis, gymnastics and athletics.

Regular fixtures and tournaments against other schools provide a fantastic opportunity for Norland pupils to represent the school in a competitive environment. Elite squads and specialist direction challenge the school’s most able sportsmen and women whilst the wide range of activities on offer enables every child to find a sport they love.

The sporting year culminates in the whole school sport’s day held at The Linford Christie Stadium.
